Soil is an essential and fundamentally non-renewable natural resource and the exact foundation of human development. Soil health plays a vital role in agricultural practices, the resilience of the environment, and also the sustainability of ecosystems. Soil health has been endangered by several challenges, like depletion of soil fertility, soil organic carbon loss/biodiversity, salinization, acidification, adulteration, erosion of soil, and degradation. Soil must be protected by different laws and policies at national as well as international levels. The goal of this chapter is to bring out entire existing laws and policies for soil health guidelines for protection, pollution control, land use, and agricultural applications. However, few areas have focused on some programs for soil protection that prioritize monitoring and improving the condition of the soil.
