From the Psychological to the Ideological? Shifts in the Memorialization of Norway’s July 22 2011 Terrorist Attacks as Refracted Through Popular Literature
摘要
The 22nd of July 2011 terrorist attacks generated an extensive literature. In this chapter, I argue that popular literature on Norway’s 22nd of July 2011 terrorist attacks evidence a shift from an emphasis on socio-psychological factors in the literature published in the first few years after the attacks (2011–2013) to an emphasis on the ideological in the literature published about ten years later (2020–2022). Ultimately, I argue, the social-psychological narrative frame is complementary to, rather than exclusive of, a political narrative frame.
