Wireless Network Reconfiguration Model in OMNeT++ Simulation Environment

The life of a modern person is almost impossible to imagine without a smartphone and the Internet. Big data, complex calculations, huge data transmission distances are the reason for constant research into communication networks. One of the most important characteristics of a network is reliability, which the article proposes to evaluate as the probability of packet delivery. In wireless networks, signal quality is affected by many physical quantities: distance, presence of obstacles, signal amplification and attenuation, movement of network nodes, and so on. To evaluate wireless networks considering many parameters, the article proposes to use the Omnet++ simulation environment, since analytical calculations do not allow us to evaluate the totality of factors affecting data transmission in wireless networks. The article sets the task of modeling a data transmission network, studying its configuration and factors affecting reliability.
