INVISIONS: Innovative Neuromorphic Vision Sensors in Real-Scenarios
摘要
Bio-inspired neuromorphic sensors potentially represent a very high incremental improvement in speed for Artificial Intelligence-based applications to environmental real-time sensor data. Sensors such as silicon retinas could change the way visual events are acquired and processed with performances currently unavailable in conventional cameras. This work presents the Innovative Neuromorphic Vision Sensors (INVISIONS) project with the goal of addressing the challenges for the adoption of neuromorphic vision sensors, changing the approach in visual perception of the environment, and achieving faster response whilst requiring a narrower data transmission bandwidth. Herein, a setup of a laboratory test bed for a parametric testing campaign to identify the sensor parameters for optimal performance to data ratios for different scenes is described, as well as the challenges to process data in real-world scenarios. More specifically, we present one possible real-world application addressing the challenge of human dynamics analysis in an open environment.
