Collaboration Networks - Impact and Network Position with Respect to Gender
摘要
The impact of authors has long been studied and with good reason – authors deserve recognition for their contributions and audiences benefit from knowing the notoriety behind the work they read. More recently, however, biases have been exposed in impact metrics. We study impact – as measured by h-index – from a collaboration network perspective, investigating differences with regard to gender. We find notable network differences that seem to favor male authors.
