This chapter considers the development and potential of the new dataset ‘Worlds of Labour’ (WoL) in constructing and validating indicators for employment legislation (‘leximetrics’) to map legal segmentation. It is argued that there are certain limits to the measurement and mapping of employment and labour legislation. However, by quantifying indicators using leximetrics, the WoL can initiate new research on legal segmentation, dualisation and segregation.

摘要

This chapter considers the development and potential of the new dataset ‘Worlds of Labour’ (WoL) in constructing and validating indicators for employment legislation (‘leximetrics’) to map legal segmentation. It is argued that there are certain limits to the measurement and mapping of employment and labour legislation. However, by quantifying indicators using leximetrics, the WoL can initiate new research on legal segmentation, dualisation and segregation.
