Numerous intriguing advancements in nanotechnology might lead to improved lives. Nanotechnology has the potential to enhance life quality, wealth, health, and goods. Food science and nanoscience have yet to fully study the field of food nano packaging. I examine advancements in nonpackaging here. The first bio based food packaging for biodegradable packaging is covered in this chapter. Certainly there is a substitute for traditional packaging made of environmentally hazardous, non-biodegradable plastic polymers: bio based packaging. Food quality is improved, waste is decreased, and shelf life is increased with bio based packaging. Nanomaterials with enhanced mechanical strength, flexibility, stability, and barrier qualities are covered in the following section. The term active packaging describes the application of active substances like oxygen-scavenging reagents and antimicrobials. Using nanosensors and nanodevices to monitor changes in the integrity or conditions of packaging, or to identify pollutants in food, is known as smart packaging. The final part addresses the health risks and safety issues related to nano packing.

摘要
