This summary aims to describe some of the characteristics of clinical supervision in Brazil. The profession of psychologist in the country has been regulated since 1962, governed by the Federal Council of Psychology and based on the Code of Professional Ethics. However, clinical supervision has not received much attention, with a lack of specific criteria for its implementation. On the other hand, in recent years there has been a significant increase in interest in competency-based supervision. Although initiatives are still limited, there is a growing movement in the country to seek training for supervisors, dissemination of good practices in supervision, and an increase in national scientific production.
