Ecologies of CARE: Reflecting on an Erasmus+ Research Project
摘要
This chapter will focus on the Erasmus+ research project: Visual art education in new times: Connecting Art with REal life issues (CARE, 2019–2022). Project CARE was aimed at enhancing visual art education with education for sustainable development within primary schools, and involved university partners in Cyprus, Malta, Greece, and England. In this chapter, the theme of ‘ecologies’ within Project CARE will be discussed from two different angles: firstly, regarding the ecological consideration of respecting and protecting nature—an important component of education for sustainable development, and, secondly, within the ‘ecologies of practice’ (Stengers, 2005) evident in the professional learning communities that were created formally and informally within the study. Similarities and contrasts between these two understandings of ecology will be considered, with a third understanding added: a new ‘practice architecture’ (Kemmis, 2022).
