This chapter explores how the concept of aesthoecology can provide a climate change and sustainability framework for interrupting normative thinking about the global crises which are upon us. Aesthoecology operates at the intersection of aesthetics, ecology and ethics, providing an opportunity to promote the arts as a central and dynamic component in transdisciplinary approaches to ecological education. Using a posthumanist and new materialist framework, drawing on Gaia theory and deep ecology, this chapter explores the ethical relationship change between humans and other-than-humans. A philosophy that combines theory and practice helps to break down dualisms of arts and sciences, nature and culture. It stimulates a creative pedagogical approach to facilitate the change culture requires to face future global, wicked challenges.
