The goal of this study is to provide an overview of the themes under the Digital Product Passport (DPP) concept. For this, we conducted a text analysis of academic contributions and industrial initiatives through hierarchical clustering and semantic similarity techniques to detect the most relevant themes. Our findings reveal that themes such as data/information management, supply chain dynamics and stakeholders, sustainability, and battery passport are recurrent across both academic and industrial text streams. Furthermore, variations in the importance of aspects like “social impact” and the “digital technologies enabling the DPP” were observed. These insights not only provide valuable guidance for identifying future research gaps for scholars and practitioners but also underscore the potential for enhancing the understanding and implementation of the DPP.
