Recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) have led to significant improvements across various fields, including Supply Chain Management, where AI's potential to revolutionize Reverse Logistics yet fundamentally crucial. The reverse logistics process represents a complex and uncertain environment ripe for AI's transformative capabilities. This paper explores the critical role of AI in enhancing reverse logistics within emphasizing its impact on improving overall Supply Chain Management efficiency. Through a comprehensive literature review and analysis of AI applications in reverse logistics, this study highlights AI's ability to facilitate autonomous decision-making, optimize reverse flow planning, execution, and control processes, and ultimately contribute to more sustainable and efficient supply chain systems. The findings reveal a substantial gap in the current research and application of AI in the reverse logistics disposition decision, indicating a critical opportunity for future investigation.
