This chapter provides a detailed account of my immigratory journey. I discuss how my parents arrived as immigrants from the Dominican Republic. In this chapter, I share the story of how my parents decided to return to their native country, how the separation impacted me, and the business ventures that they embarked in the Dominican Republic. Even though my parents attempted to sustain a family in the Dominican Republic, it was more difficult than they thought financially and returned to the United States. My parents realized that they could not give their children the same opportunities in the Dominican Republic that they were able to provide for them in the United States.
