The aim of our book was to introduce a design-science research approach as a promising way for teaching and investigating entrepreneurial education. The book focuses on supporting educators as designers of entrepreneurial education, so that they are able to educate students as change agents. Such change agents have the essential skills and mindset to create sustainable value with and for others in circumstances characterized by uncertainty. As such, we frame entrepreneurial education in the book beyond its more traditional, economic orientation—we argue that entrepreneurial education has transformative potential and we perceive entrepreneurial education as a way to empower a new generation of change agents with entrepreneurial mindsets, who are capable of addressing the complex, “wicked” challenges of our time. In this final chapter, we as editors synthesize the contributions of the authors and provide an overview of emerging developments in design science research within the field of entrepreneurial education. We present a way forward for both practitioners and researchers and describe the design process behind the VLAIO EntreDesign Canvas. The collaboration with VLAIO, a Flemish government agency that supports entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial education in Flanders (Belgium), offered a unique opportunity to apply design science research and bricolage in a real-life context, further building upon the artifacts created by the authors in Part II of this book.

摘要
