Diagnosis of vascular anomalies poses a challenge due to historical confusion in classification and treatment. Inconsistent terminology like “hemangioma” led to misclassification and ineffective treatments. The International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA) classification, initially adopted in 1996 and revised in 2014 and 2018, provides a framework based on clinical, histological, and genetic factors, paving the way for precision medicine. This review provides an overview of the epidemiological aspects of vascular anomalies, encompassing both vascular tumors and malformations. Additionally, it underscores the significance of accurate classification, considering the molecular and genetic aspects.

摘要
