Transcutaneous Oxygen Pressure Measurement
摘要
This chapter is an overview of indications and methods for the use of transcutaneous oxygen pressure recordings in lower extremity arterial diseases. Attention must be paid for careful methodology when doing measurements at rest. In this condition, it must always be kept in mind that a transcutaneous unpredictable gradient exists and the sensitization during provocative maneuvers (Limb elevation, limb lowering, oxygen inhalation in normobaric or hyperbaric conditions) may improve the resting results. Transcutaneous oximetry can also provide unique information when performed at exercise specifically for buttock claudication or claudication of doubtful arterial origin.
