Social Determinants of Health
摘要
The social determinants of health encompass a variety of non-medical factors from different domains (economy, education, occupation, physical environment, and access to care). Their impact on vascular disease occurrence and outcomes is well-documented. These characteristics differ from other established risk factors that are mostly biological in nature. Complexity in pathways, how they exert their effect through various mediators/moderators, and complicated interactions with critical covariates are some of their unique features. Interventions that aim to address these determinants show promise; however, their efficiency is not straightforward. In addition to research in this field, persuasion and collaboration with stakeholders outside the medical sphere are needed.
