Based on predetermined objects of comparison, the research aims to compare the regulations governing the accounting of fixed assets in the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China. The authors achieved the research goal using analysis, synthesis, deduction, induction, multidimensional comparison, dogmatic method, comparative legal method, tabular method, and graphical method. The research materials included the works of various authors and regulations governing accounting in Russia and China. The originality and scientific novelty of this research lie in identifying objects for comparison of fixed assets accounting standards and identifying similarities and divergences of standards. As a result, objects of comparison of accounting standards were identified and described, and discrepancies between standards were identified. The authors found no similarities for most objects of comparison. The presence of identified discrepancies may lead to incomparability of reporting data when making spatial comparisons in terms of fixed assets.
