The research presents the results of X-ray phase analysis conducted on core sample materials. The studied core comprises productive deposits of the Megion Formation, exemplified by one of the major fields in the Middle Priobye region, located within the Surgut structure. The examined productive layer belongs to the upper part of the Megion Formation, consisting of interbedded layers of argillites and sandstones. The age of the deposits is dated to the Berriasian-Valanginian stage of the Lower Cretaceous. The authors analyzed core samples from two wells, No. 2077 and No. 2011, situated at a relative distance from each other in different parts of the productive layer. The research describes the methodology of conducting X-ray phase analysis and characterizes the main results obtained. The analysis was performed using the Rietveld method. Results from electron microscopy at magnifications ranging from 10× to 500× were also utilized. Consequently, X-ray diffraction patterns were obtained, and detailed analysis was performed, making it possible to identify the principal mineral components of the studied deposits. The research thoroughly examined the lithological features of the productive layer, identified the main mineralogical constituents of the reservoir, characterized the cement, and established the secondary mineralogical components.
