Development of Calculation Methodology and Technology of Artificial Glacier Creation for Natural and Climatic Conditions of the Kyrgyz Republic
摘要
The research touches upon relevant problems related to the current state of pastures and the provision of clean drinking water to the population. The authors propose a technology of artificial glacier creation, which is one of the most realistic ways of solving the problems related to preserving pastures from degradation, developing arid lands in mountainous and foothill areas, and providing clean drinking water to the population. The analysis results on determining the factors directly influencing the change of glacier covers are given. It is established that reducing glacial cover leads to the devastation of foothills and high-mountain pastures. The developed technology of artificial glacier creation makes it possible to obtain water reserves in the form of a glacier, which will provide the local population with clean drinking water during low-water periods. The authors developed the methodology for calculating the main parameters of the process of water freezing, such as the height of the water rise, the size of the water pipe, and the thickness of the insulating layer. The authors determined the optimum geometrical dimensions of the pipe height for forming a cone-shaped artificial glacier, the diameters of the water pipe, and the expected area of ice cover obtained with the help of this technology. The authors established the time allotted for the process of freezing in the winter period, depending on the ambient temperature. Moreover, the authors developed recommendations on disseminating the practice of creating artificial glaciers to preserve pastures and prevent their degradation.
