This introductory chapter provides an overview of the edited volume by describing its themes, aims, and organisation. The chapter sets the scene by outlining the factors that ushered in glocalisation in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and the key considerations and concerns that led to the idea of this volume. It explains how this volume seeks to develop the phenomenon of glocalisation in TESOL theory and practice, a more inclusive look at English language teaching (ELT) practices, and how it offers more context-sensitive and culturally attuned ideas and strategies. It also provides principles of glocalisation that can be applicable to learners, materials development, and teacher education. It then presents the aim and organisation of the volume, as well as a brief synopsis of its three parts.
