The third distinctive facet of Spatial AI consists in types of AI that are embedded in devices dispersed in indoor or outdoor environments (i.e. in the form of Spatial Robotics and Ambient Intelligence), or at the intersections of AI with spatial computing (Augmented Reality, Metaverse, Digital Twins). The former may entail devices from nanochips to robots and the latter may involve spatially immersive forms of AI. More importantly, the contribution of AI in the development of Digital Twins for geospatial applications paves the way for the emulation of large scale spatial processes that may also entail AI-enabled holograms.
