Transport infrastructure is very important for the development of the country. The purpose of this article is to assess the types of pavement damage and choose optimal maintenance to overcome them on the Delhi-Kolkata Highway also known as (Old NH-2). Road surfaces can be damaged in a number of ways, including potholes, subsidence, ruts, shear damage, etc. heavy loads, insufficient drainage and heavy rains are the main reasons that cause damage to flexible paving. People suffer many problems in their daily life due to broken pavement. Road surface damage not only causes problems for people, but also increases maintenance costs. This study examines the failure categories of flexible pavements, their causes and their repair along with related maintenance measures.
