Urban mobility and accessibility are critical to Indian cities’ long-term economic success. The consolidation of built forms and spatial extension are inextricably linked to urban stock and flows. Urban mobility has several ramifications for public policy and practice. Therefore, cross-process communication and policy consistency are critical. A systems approach, which provides a comprehensive knowledge of the obstacles and their root causes, is the most effective way to address complicated urban transportation concerns. Significant policy adjustments will be difficult to undertake without a thorough understanding of the interactions between the system elements that drive the symptoms. Bus journeys, NMT, and personal autos are all forms of transportation. Cities and transportation networks are viewed as tools for achieving actual socioeconomic goals, with mobility serving as a facilitator. The goal of this research is to discover and suggest solutions to urban transportation issues. Furthermore, the significance of government involvement in achieving this aim has been assessed. It has been underlined that tackling all of these urban transportation challenges would need a combination of planning reforms, capacity building, knowledge management, and the transferability of best practices.
