A prototype of a functional electrical stimulation device for rehabilitation of patients with motor sequelae due to neurological conditions is currently under design and development. However, to operate the stimulator easily and efficiently, an updated graphical user interface (GUI) is required, which is intuitive and efficient to apply pre-established stimulation protocols and create new ones, while complying with international standards. As a tool to design the GUI, a 15-question survey was applied to seventy-three health professionals, allowing a design that meets the expectations and requirements of the end user. From the survey such relevant features of the GUI were identified, which were combined with requirements and considerations of the IEC 62304 and IEC 62366 standards, to develop a sketch of a GUI in Matlab, to guide further developments.

摘要
