What’s Next for Engaged Research?

Engaged research is growing at a remarkable rate. How can we ensure we future-proof the infrastructure and ecosystem we are building for engaged research? Many process solutions have grown out of the need for expanded practice, but how can these be honed and expanded? In this section, we look to the future of engaged research. This chapter will consider future trends in research, provide recommendations for developing a sustainable culture of engaged research, and highlight the current gaps that need to be addressed. The goal is to highlight how to drive future engaged research and successfully maximise societal benefit from research.
