Building the Engaged Research Ecosystem

Understanding the value proposition of engaged research is different from being able to implement and sustain it. This section focuses on the investments and operational changes required to build and embed engaged research into the research ecosystem. It gives an overview of implementation frameworks for systems change. It explores associated changes required for sustainable progress in engaged research, such as changes to research support, funding, research metrics, and assessment. We discuss outstanding tensions such as intellectual property, research ownership, power, equity, and inclusion.
