Tumors of the Submandibular Gland
摘要
Tumors of the submandibular gland are the second most frequent major salivary gland neoplasms after tumors in the parotid gland. They account for about 10% of all salivary neoplasms, and approximately 50% are malignant. The wide variety of tumor etiology, microscopic histology, growth patterns, and tumor characteristics can make diagnosis and treatment challenging for clinicians. This chapter discusses the epidemiology, etiology, pathophysiology, histopathology, clinical presentation, evaluation, differential diagnosis, management, and prognosis of benign and malignant tumors of the submandibular gland.
