Parotid Gland Lymphoma

  • Mahmoud Sakr

摘要

Lymphomas may develop in intra-parotid lymph nodes (LNs). The risk of lymphoma is increased in patients with Sjogren’s syndrome. Lymphomas can be confused with Warthin’s tumor on cytology, and larger tissue samples are usually requested, and immunohistochemistry (IHC) is required. Lymphoma accounts for 15% of all malignant salivary gland tumors. The parotid gland is the most commonly affected salivary gland (80%). Parotid lymphoma may be primary (less common) or secondary (far more common). This chapter discusses the epidemiology, etiology (risk factors), pathogenesis/pathophysiology, pathology, clinical presentation, complications, investigations, diagnosis, staging, prevention, treatment options, and prognosis of parotid lymphoma.
