This chapter focuses on teacher-student relationshipsTeacher-student relationship in pedagogical love. In discussing this topic, ideas of pedagogical love are based on the concept that it requires total presencePresence and the ability to be aware and awake in the present moment. Experiences and understandings of pedagogical love in teacher-student relationships are shared, drawing from the perennial spiritual traditions of TaoismTaoism, BuddhismBuddhism, ConfucianismConfucianism, and YogaYoga, as well as from the authors’ personal narratives as teachers and students. The discussion includes how contemplative practicesContemplative practices and spiritual pursuits enable teachers and students to be present for each other in an educational situation/momentEducational situation/moment, going beyond a consciousnessConsciousness of separation based on ego, for the enactment of pedagogical love that transforms and inspires teaching and learning and expands human potentialHuman potential.
