Ditylenchus species are mainly fungivores. However, some species are plant-parasitic, including D. destructor and D. dipsaci, which the latter grouped among the top 10 plant-parasitic nematodes. Phytoparasite species of Ditylenchus are polyphagous with yield loss on plants. However, D. dipsaci was reported in association with more diverse host plants. Overall, Ditylenchus species have similar morphology, and molecular DNA barcodes are valuable tools for their precise identification. These nematodes are mainly transmitted through infected plant materials. Infection by Ditylenchus species appears in various symptoms. The onions infected with D. dipsaci showed softened tubers and concentric brown circles in bulbs. The life cycle of D. dipsaci occurs in 19–23 days, whereas D. destructor and D. angustus occur in 6–7 days. This chapter is focused on various aspects of plant-parasitic species of Ditylenchus with the most economic importance.
