Teaching the various methods of recording and documenting heritage buildings is an important way of gathering valued information about architectural heritage. Diachronically, there are various courses, at both undergraduate and graduate levels, on traditional methods of documenting heritage buildings, which in turn, have recently been enriched by advanced methods and technologies. This chapter introduced a new graduate course, through which theoretical and applied knowledge is gained by recording and documenting cultural heritage buildings using various methodologies (traditional, digital, and environmental). The main requirement of the course is the preparation of a project, with a historic church as a case study. The incorporation of environmental recording, together with traditional and digital architectural documentation of cultural heritage buildings, is an innovative teaching element that is introduced in this course, which furthermore, is necessary for the holistic understanding of built heritage.
