In recent years, firms are called to contribute to regenerative sustainability. This concept entails applying a systems thinking perspective to the operation of businesses and transforming their business models to promote the restoration and regeneration of natural resources and social systems. The present work is a systematic review that examines the publications that have investigated the role of business as an agent of positive impact and growth, documents the relevant progress, and suggests future research avenues. Using as keywords the terms “regeneration” or “regenerative” and “business,” 151 research articles were retrieved from the Scopus database and thoroughly examined. Following bibliometric and content analysis were conducted. The bibliometric analysis identified the most influential and productive authors, as well as the most used author keywords, discovering 10 research clusters. Also, content analysis demonstrated the patterns and trends relating to the identified clusters in the specific research domain. The findings facilitate practitioners’ understanding and familiarize researchers with progress in this research area.
