Change of Coastline and Beach of Nha Trang Bay
摘要
This chapter presents the results of a study on shoreline and beach change processes in Nha Trang Bay, South China Sea. The data presented the result of research conducted by the Vietnam Institute of Oceanography in recent years. The findings show that beach erosion occurs mainly during the northeastern monsoon and accretion during the southern monsoon. The sea-filling work has partially or completely altered the landscape of the coastal zone and caused the loss of the natural characteristics of the seabed. This has resulted in reduced sea surface area, altered hydrological dynamics, marine pollution, and reduced biodiversity.
