In this chapter, I explain the impact on the innovation ecosystem of Kazakhstan due to women-led and youth-oriented initiatives in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) fields. In particular, I apply the theory of planned behavior and mission-oriented innovation systems to examine youth involvement and STEM leadership of Technovation.Girls Kazakhstan. While the theory of planned behavior explores pathways that girls undertake to move from motivations to participation, the mission-oriented innovation framework allows identification of roles and impact of Technovation Girls Kazakhstan to shape a broader innovation ecosystem in the country.
