In this chapter, we provide an exploratory analysis of women's participation in public administration and their advancement in decision-making across legislative, executive, judicial, and diplomatic public administration domains. We analyzed statistics on the proportion of women in senior positions and examined legislative initiatives and work and family influences on women’s roles and status in public administration leadership. We identified and analyzed the positive changes in society and the government apparatus, as well as cultural and social barriers that hinder women's full involvement in politics and governance. We elaborated on the complexity and non-uniformity across domains to devise a nuanced understanding of current progress and future possibilities for women's advancement in political leadership roles.
