Implementation of Digital Healthcare for Improving Maternal Care: A Systematic Review
摘要
In this paper we have reviewed the impact of digital healthcare for improving maternal care in West Bengal. To reduce the rate of mortality the Indian Government implemented various types of funding schemes which provide cash incentive to a pregnant woman. In this paper we have studied the effectiveness of two such schemes, namely Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY), and Pradhan Mantri Matra Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) along with impact of digital healthcare in improving the mother and neonatal healthcare. We conducted this study in all the 23 districts of West Bengal mainly in rural areas. The data is being taken from all the round of the sample registration system to understand the pattern of maternal healthcare in West Bengal. All four National Family Health Survey [1998–99, 2005–06, 2015–16, and 2020–21] were used to analyze the data. It has been seen that this scheme seems to be a very beneficial reducing 77% reduction in the rate of maternal mortality while the world’s average is only 43%. The schemes seem to be very beneficial in increasing institutional birth and antenatal and postnatal visit as 20.5%, 3.8%, and 6% growth respectively. The rate of maternal and child mortality decreases gradually that is the result of those schemes along with growing technologies in healthcare.
