This course manual provides the theoretical basis of the simulation course in obstetric emergencies made available in sub-Saharan countries by the dedicated obstetric team for mother-child projects of the University Hospital Basel in Africa. It provides midwives and doctors with addition information regarding the practical parts of the course and the different simulation scenarios. This document is the first version of this manual and is a ‘work in progress’ that will be enriched and updated in further versions.
