Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) are block- chain systems that encounter challenges of complexity, scalability, and usability, which are common to all Decentralized Applications (DApps). Moreover, these challenges are compounded by the complexities of designing and validating the token economies on which the governance of DAOs is based. Current methods lack a holistic approach that addresses both the structural challenges of DAOs and those related to token economy design. We enhance the Trusted DApp Modeling (T-DM) approach, a state-of-the-art DApp modeling method, incorporating elements of token economies of DAOs, and evaluate its utility via an in vivo case study focused on the governance of a blockchain-based community currency system. Our modeling language facilitates the specification of incentive mechanisms, crucial for successful DAO governance.
