Digital forensics examinations have a history of several decades and significant development can be observed in various subdomains. Developments continue today, also about collecting and analyzing data on events or emerging new subdomains with the help of autonomous tools. Modern technologies have an impact on the performance of examinations, their purpose and methodology, as well as on the means of examinations and examination devices. This study determines and describes the main steps of the different transport vehicle-related digital forensics (DF) examinations based on DF main steps and practical data examinations in the vehicle’s infotainment and other ECUs (electronic control unit).
