Fare Integration Under Conditions of Suburbanisation and Location of Transfer Centres Outside Urban Areas

The paper presents processes of suburbanisation and location of selected elements of the passenger transport infrastructure in suburban areas as the factors, which should cause intensification of implementing solutions from the field of tariff integration of the urban and regional passenger transport. In suburban areas, due to a low density of population and frequently scattered residential development, it is difficult to achieve a high quality of public transport services. In addition, the suburban and regional transport can differ from the urban transport in tariff systems and tariff regulations. The tariff integration, also with the use of IT, will allow to improve the competitiveness of the public transport with movements by cars.
