Smart City Tools Supporting Sustainable Transport in Wrocław

The article discusses the issue of sustainable transport in cities, supported by Smart City tools. The authors present an overview of tools influencing the functioning of transport systems in a city, such as Intelligent Traffic Management Systems (ITMS), Mobility as a Service (MaaS), and Autonomous vehicles, and their role in creating a sustainable transport system. The Smart City tools implemented in Wrocław’s (Poland) transport systems (ITMS and MaaS) were identified and analysed. Then, based on the described solutions, elements that could improve the effectiveness and efficiency of Wrocław’s transport systems were identified and recommendations were stated. Since Wrocław uses ITMS and MaaS, the recommendations concern the development of these technologies and the introduction of AV into public transport in the city.
