The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the cryptocurrency market, specifically Bitcoin and Ethereum. The objective is to examine the price trends, volatility, and correlations of the two cryptocurrencies during the pandemic. The study uses daily data from 2020 and 2021 to conduct a statistical analysis of the cryptocurrency market. The methodology employed includes descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and correlation analysis. The findings demonstrated that during the pandemic period, the values of Bitcoin and Ethereum underwent significant shifts, with increased trading volumes and higher volatility. A relapse examination was performed to determine the connection between the cost of Bitcoin and Ethereum and the pandemic time frame. The analysis showed that the price of Ethereum was positively correlated with the pandemic period, but that the price of Bitcoin was not significantly correlated. The study also provides insights for investors and policymakers to make informed decisions in the cryptocurrency market. The development of cryptocurrency trading platforms with cutting-edge security features to safeguard investors’ funds, as well as increased investor education and awareness, were among these recommendations.
