Digital games have been used as mental health resources to reduce and prevent mental problems and disorders. Despite the growing evidence, few studies have attempted to test the effectiveness and gather useful data for designing, developing, and implementing these resources. The present research aims to collect and examine evidence on digital game-based interventions that have been effective in mental disorders, focusing on mood, anxiety, substance use, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. The goals are to provide an overview of effective digital game-based interventions and to synthesize data for designing, developing, and implementing these resources. The research consists of a systematic review of the “Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses”. It collects evidence on effective digital game-based interventions in mental disorders, between January 2018 and December 2023, appealing to SCOPUS, Web of Science, and EBSCOhost databases. Includes three reviews and reviewers, with data analyzed on design, development, and implementation. The search yielded 3.751 sources, but only two were included as evidence. Two digital game-based interventions in mental disorders present effective results for depression and anxiety. An overview of the effective digital game-based interventions in mental disorders, and useful data for designing, developing, and implementing these resources are achieved, being supported and complemented by a discussion. This research achieved its goals and attests that digital game-based interventions can be effective in mental disorders, specifically in anxiety and depression. It highlights that more research is still lacking to support the design, development, and implementation of effective digital game-based interventions.

摘要
