摘要

The introductory part of this article offers a glimpse of the state of teacher education in Italy, with specific reference to the digital skills required, at the national and European level, of future teachers. Serious Games (SGs), i.e., videogames developed for educational purposes, and more generally the gamification of educational processes represent one of the latest frontiers of educational design. Rethinking the traditional model of teaching is necessary: global governance is rebuilding paradigms, tools and methodologies, relying on the benefits of new technologies. The purpose of the present study is to report a teacher training experience consisting of an exercise on Game Design, introducing students to the basic elements of game-based learning with integration of contemporary technological elements. The methodology for developing educational games adopted is that created by The Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University in Toronto. The authors present the products produced at the end of the educational activities, proposing an innovative model for returning and evaluating assignments.
