Analysis of Reflection/Transmission Parameters Through Ophthalmic Lenses with Protection Treatments for Ultraviolet Radiation
摘要
Ophthalmic lenses have long been the most practical and effective solution for correcting refractive defects, to protect the visual system from various light radiation or for visual aid in case of eye dysfunction. The materials and manufacturing processes used to realize and obtain high characteristics of ophthalmic lenses have been perfected and gave the impact of the digitization of design and of the evolution in the field of specific technology. At this moment, an important aspect is the analysis of the ophthalmic lens behavior during use, this fact being aware of the main objective of the research. Thus, in the first part of the work, the main aspects related to opto-mechanical parameters, but also to the constructive and technological ones are studied. Therefore, in the second part, the authors present the proposal for a methodology and technique for periodic analysis of the most important aspect of light radiation propagation through the optical environments of the ophthalmic lens, reflectivity and transmissibility. The results of this study are presented in the third part of the paper along with the representation of the image processing evaluated and measured by digital microscopy. The conclusions of these assessments and the combined analyses are summarized in the final part of the work, thus highlighting the importance of surface treatments for ensuring visual comfort for a long time and even in different environmental conditions or of use.
