The Ethics of Making a Short Life
摘要
From early childhood we are ingrained with the same story of a “typical life.” We are supposed to get a good education, find a job, get married, start a family, work until we are ready to retire, and one day it all comes to an end. That’s a life many people lead, and although it is becoming more acceptable to break out of this typical life, a lot of people still want it. There are many reasons to live life following this path. Many of us want families because we want our lives to be filled with people who love us and people we can love. We need money and therefore jobs, and the requisite education to support our families. And so, we often end up falling into this familiar routine, following the same life path of so many others.
