In this chapter a combination of type-3 fuzzyType-3 fuzzy logicFuzzy logic and the Holder exponent (HE), which measures multi-fractality, is utilized for diagnosis of mental disordersMental disorders. HE is utilized to characterize the geometrical properties of the EEG signal. A type-3 fuzzy system is employed to represent the knowledge of experts in diagnosis. In this case, type-3 helps in representing the uncertaintyUncertainty in making a medical diagnosis. Simulation results with a dataset of EEG signals show the effectiveness of the approach.
