In this chapter a combination of type-3 fuzzyType-3 fuzzy logic system (T3FLS) and the fractal dimensionFractal dimension (FD) is employed for osteoporosisOsteoporosis diagnosis. FD is utilized to characterize the geometrical properties of the bone texture and anisotropyAnisotropy. A T3FLS is employed to represent the knowledge of experts in diagnosis. In this situation, the T3FLS helps in representing the uncertaintyUncertainty in making a medical diagnosis. Simulation results with a dataset of bone x-rays shows the accuracy of the proposal.
