In this chapter we summarize the theoretical constructs identified in Chaps. 5 and 6 and exemplified in the case studies in Chap. 7 , presenting more detailed information regarding their conceptualization (Sect. 8.2). We then attempt to integrate the different constructs into a synthesized model of politeness (Sect. 8.3). Finally, we discuss the wider theoretical impacts of the findings for future research in im/politenessIm/politeness (Sect. 8.4).
